Saint Paul, Minnesota Chapter

                                                "We Need Not Walk Alone"

This Poem is dedicated to Jim Fischer and to All Step Parents.

It was written by my niece Christina for her Step Dad who recently was taken from us too soon.

I never called you father

I never called you father~
But always were you there.
Never did you hesitate
To show how much you care.

I never called you father~
But still you are the one
Who helped me grow to who I am
From the days when I was young.

I never called you father~
But you mean much more than that,
Because everything you taught me
Has put me where I am at.

I never called you father~
But my heart - it know what's true
For you're the one I went to
if I didn't know what to do.

I never called you father~
But your eyes - they've always shone,
With all the Love you had for me
in many ways it's known.

I never called you father~
But all you've done for me
is more important than any word.
This I hope you see.

I never called you father~
Yet still we share a bond
Because of all I learned from you,
I've become so very fond.

I never called you father~
But even when I am sad
Way deep down inside of me
You'll always be my dad.
