"We Need Not Walk Alone"

Dear Newly Bereaved,

The Saint Paul Area Compassionate Friends Chapter would like to offer you our Friendship. We are glad that you found us but are truly sorry for the reason that brought you to us.

As fellow bereaved parents we understand the devastation of your loss. Although we have not walked in your shoes, we have already been down the path you are now forced to walk. Please let us help you as you as other bereaved parents have helped us. We understand that it is a difficult step to face the reality of your loss. Most of us have found that by sharing and talking with people that understand can be an important life line in going through the grieving process.

We would love to have you come to our sharing group and share your loss with us. We would love to here you talk about your child. If you do not want to talk, some find comfort in just being around people who TRULY understand what you are going through. It is OK to just listen to other share the same thoughts and feelings that you too have been experiencing.

Our sharing group provides friendship and understanding to bereaved parents, Grandparents, and siblings. We also have an extensive library of books and other resources. Another life line we provide is a newsletter with many poems and articles written by parents and siblings.

We sometimes have a topic for our sharing group but do not always stay on the topic. This is your sharing group and want you to feel comfortable talking about whatever you would like to share.

Our members would like to offer you are friendship, compassion, and Hope. The loss of a child is the most tragic experience of our lives. Although we have already been down that path you are now on, this is your journey and you must walk it the way that works for you!

Just know that YOU NEED NOT WALK ALONE
